Questions About Window & Glass
Why are my windows suddenly sticking?
Usually because the opening is no longer square. Foundation movement racks the frame, and the sash binds against it. That is why we measure the opening before quoting glass.
Can a fogged window be repaired or does it need replacing?
Fogging means the seal between the panes has failed. The insulated glass unit gets replaced, but often the frame can stay, which keeps the cost well below a full window.
Do you fix the frame or only the glass?
Both. Replacing glass in a frame that has moved tends to end with cracked glass again, so the opening gets addressed as part of the work.
Should windows be done before or after foundation repair?
After, when both are planned. Lifting a foundation changes the openings, so windows set before the repair can end up out of square again.
